The Whiskey

Green Valley Ranch Casino harbors a unique little spot called The Whiskey. Now I'll admit at first when I got into Las Vegas, I tried to find this watering hole. The subsequent 2 attempts proved fruitless. I wonder if my not being able to see straight had anything to do with it? Yet this Friday night with nothing to do other than watch Battlestar Galactica I decided to give it a go. Armed with 40.00 and a pack of Camel smokes I ventured out. Green Valley Ranch is a high society casino for locals and tourists alike. Nicely decorated and an impressive buffet for the toughest appetite.
After the detailed directions from the security staff I took an elevator down to the lobby. I had no goddamn idea I was that far from a lobby. Half twisted on booze, Kenny my new found friend from Alaska,(who by the way was boasting at having to fend off 5 women at a time)and I strolled up to The Whiskey. So far so good I like those odds 5-1, I unlaced one of my shoes just in case I had to fight off more than 5. Ill use the shoe. The security was friendly and we walked right in no lines, no 100.00 cover. There are these massive doors right out of some 80's Barbarian movie, Im glad they were open, in my deterioratinging state I might not have been able to get inside. People were everywhere women were abundant and I needed a double Jack and coke (cola not the drug!) to get me right.
The overall vibe of the place was high society and low brow. I saw Dale Ernhardt wanna be's mixing it up with hardcore brothers. Booze is a wonderful thing. Speaking of booze the prices were decent for Vegas. I paid 5.00 bucks for Rum and Cokes and the bartenders were nice and hot. The music was reminiscent of that old mixed tape under your car seat labeled "Kick ass 99 mix". Yeah what can I say The Whiskey is a decent night away from the strip. Make no mistake the place is a club, if your looking to relax this is not your spot. If you want to dance to late 90's music and drink up then by all means. The nice thing about this place is that you can wander outside and enjoy a nice view of the strip. The Casino/Hotel looks impressive at this angle as well. Right before he asked me for a smoke, Daniel a security guard pointed to an open space with only several cabanas and 2 pools and remarked: "You see all that? Well in the summer thats all VIP filled my man, packed with people. Come back then and do your review, can I get another smoke?" Maybe I will Daniel. I didn't see Kenny Im assuming he lost his fight.
